Title: More Rar problems Post by: tatler on March 20, 2008, 02:33:27 AM This problem came to light in a few posts - but most recently here -
http://85.17.187.83/saff/index.php?topic=279349.0 The password provided by the poster had a German umlaut - the letter "o" with two dots above it. A number of board members including myself had problems unrarring the file. We believe the umlaut is the problem but can;t be 100 sure. I use UnRarX a Mac application for rar files. Any suggestions for another program for Macs or another approach - someone suggested a batch file prog - I'm not even sure Mac can use batch files. I discovered by accident that this app, basically a video splitter-joiner, will also open RAR files. It's free and you can download it at:

Choose Apple menu > System Preferences and click International. 2. Click Input Menu, then select the checkbox next to Keyboard Viewer. 3. Select the On checkbox next to the language whose keyboard layout you want to use. 4. Choose Show Keyboard Viewer from the Input menu on the right side of the menu bar (the one that looks like a flag). 5. To see the keyboard layout for a different language, choose its keyboard layout from the Input menu. Ho[e this helps.
