Title: Thread for all Mac Video apps and codecs?
Post by: uncaff on April 01, 2008, 01:00:29 AM
Anyone interested in starting a thread where we Mac-ers could share info and apps for dealing with video on a Mac?

There are dozens of codecs out there and many video players, splitters, joiners, converters, etc. for Mac. I've installed every codec I could find into QuickTime and downloaded many video apps - some good, some not so good. I'd be happy to share these with y'all and hear about some that I've missed.

What do you think?

Sure, why not. Couldn't hurt, so count me in. :D

In fact, I already have a question for that thread: Are there any good video preview applications out there? The only thing I've found so far is VLCs snapshot function, which makes snaps of single frames, but doesn't arrage them in a neat contact sheet-like image like the Windows-apps do. And doing this by hand is a major PITA... :)

I suggest you get you hands on PhotoshopCS. You can import jpgs, png, gifs to automate contact sheets and then some.
leaves "imagebrabber" in the dust. other than that I havent been able to find anything else make contact sheets.
