Revenge and remorse

After watching and assisting in the punishment of her friend Violet who tried to intimidate and ultimately to punish Sarah’s man servant, Ash is suffering some remorse and feels she was as much to blame for the attempted humiliation of Sarah’s man servant as was Violet. At her own request and after some discussion, to help ease her conscience she agrees to take a reciprocal punishment. Sarah says she does not think that she should carry out this punishment and so it is carried out by Violet.
