Title: Trouble downloading...
Post by: heinous on August 01, 2008, 04:44:43 AM
Hi,

Just signed up for a trial to an adult site to download some vids...vids are between 50 and 100 MB

When using either Firefox 3 or latest Safari, downloading quits at some point (usually around when 50-75% of the download is completed) and I get the truncated file on my desktop

Is there something downloadable so that either program can know the download has prematurely stopped and I can resume?

Thanks!!

Hi, I take it that you are using the download feature built in to the browsers? If this is the case you are not going to have very much success with any of your downloads if they are of a larger size. My suggestion would be to find yourself a good download manager and set it up to take control and be the default downloading tool. The best that I have found is Speed Download 5. It works well with both Safari and Firefox 3. IT also can be set up to integrate with Rapidshare and several other upload sites and makes life a lot less complicated. The greatest benefit is that you can download multiple links at the same time and set SD5 to start in the middle of the night when you are asleep so your downloads are ready in the morning. It supports resume too so you won't waste your bandwidth. If you want to send me a private message I can forward you the links for where you can obtain the program.

Good luck... As i mentioned if you want the link to Speed Download 5 drop me a private message.
