I'm in college, so I survive mostly off of frozen food, specifically pizza.

I found the most amazing looking frozen pizza ever when I went to the store one day. It had pepperoni, Italian sausage, bacon, extra cheese, and even had stuffed crust.
I couldn't wait to get home and cook it. I was in such a hurry that I ripped it out of the packaging, threw the whole thing onto a pizza baking stone and then right into the oven.
Unfortunately for me, I forgot to take the piece of cardboard out from under it before I baked it. The entire pizza tasted like chemicals and I had to throw the whole thing out.
I haven't been able to find that pizza in the store since then.

My best mate's wife was in hospital having a baby so,one Saturday I phoned him & said pop around when you get back from the hospital & I'll do us up a curry. So I got all the prep done, the chicken was marinading in Tikka paste & yogurt on skewers waiting to be grilled,so onto the sauce...Got the mushrooms, onions & dry toasted spices on to cook, added the chopped tomatoes & spinach then added some chili flakes for extra kick..TO MUCH CHILI FLAKES!!
So we sat down with a beer & tucked in...after the first mouthful, neither of us could eat anymore it was so unbelieveably hot!! (And I'm originally from Birmingham & love a hot curry!)
So after that, we went to the pub for a few cooling beers & a pizza on the way home!!

There's nothing funny about failed expectations with food and all i can say is taste test as you cook.

I've done the curry houses in Birmingham up the Ridley Road too. yes I was educated in England and had a girlfriend from Balsall Heath, and no - not a prossie.

Bravado among friends i learnt to stop after ordering their hottest curries and then when taking the girlie home and having a tongue on her snatch she complained that it was akin to a blowtorch - all i ended up with was a blowjob.

Great days those and i miss Yardley so much. My good friend and piss head, John Hemming is now a Lib Dem MP too <wtf>

I had a frozen pizza disaster once. I bought a brand I'd never tried before and even though the directions said to put it on a baking sheet I put it straight on the rack because I like a crunchier crust on frozen pizza. Well after about ten minutes in the oven I heard a couple of thuds from the kitchen and the house began to fill with smoke. I ran in and opened the oven door and the crust had gotten so soft as the pizza thawed that the wires on the rack had gone through the crust and the pizza fell onto the heating element and caught on fire. I put the fire out and opened up the windows to air the place out. That wasn't much fun though because it was the middle of winter. The worst part was that the oven was a complete mess and instead of enjoying a meal I got to spend about an hour scraping burnt cheese out of the oven.

     Oh my god!

My dad decided to keep some left over vegetables from Sunday lunch to use the next day.  For reasons that he alone knew, he decided to wrap them in cling film and put them in the (now cool) oven, instead of the fridge.  He also didn't tell me where he'd put them, so next day I put the oven on.  The veggies were still in the stove.  Dad got back from work, and then promptly ran to the oven and got the combination of melted cliing film and vegetables out and told ME off for not checking the oven.  The oven isn't a natural place to keep left over, uncooked vegetables!   This was also the weekend my dad managed to bugger up the Sunday roast, which ended up burnt on one side and almost raw on the other side.

I decided to fry some chips ( or fries for the Americans ), unfortunately like a numb skull i put the chips in cold oil and heated them....A volcano of foam was the result, oil running all over the hob and onto the floor, but then as i lifted the pan in panic to stop the foaming the oil caught light....woosh, up shot a flame 2 and a half foot straight up.Lol i am still alive so you can tell i managed to put the flame out and clean up the mess, but i couldnt stop laughing!
    Why?
Because the cooker was only a week old, brand new!!!!
Now for some reason friends dont want to come round to dinner, cant think why? LOL!!!!!!!!!

I cook at a restaurant so I can't even begin to name the various accidents and overall mayhem for that I've seen.  I've seen it all from pizzas literally falling apart as we tried to serve them ( falling apart one a person so...yea that burns like hell) I've seen fryers go up in flames (grease fires not fun). I've also been a victim of various accidents and have the scars/burns to prove it Tongue

One weekend a couple years ago I was making "beer butt" chicken on the gas grill on the porch.  I'd already had a couple of the beers, but didn't think anything of it.  Normally I do a dry rub on the outside of the chicken when I cook this way.  For some reason (I blame the Miller Genuine Draft) I used BBQ sauce on the outside.  I went in to the house to fix the side dishes and the next thing I know my husband is outside with a water bottle trying to put out the flames on the chicken.  Needless to say he ended up cooking us omlettes for dinner  Wink

Have not had a disaster, yet... but had a grill fall apart while cooking burgers on it once. It was rusted out and wobbly, as soon as the lid shut, the whole thing crapped out onto the ground, burgers were saved!

Oi oi oil fire, just hapened, i let it burn out, it was a little fire but really smelled up the house, it could've gone into the pan to make a bigger fire, but i had a cover and would've used it to stop it.

Was at a friends house and we decided to make a pizza. Well we started watching a movie and zoned out until we started smelling smoke. I don't think either of us have ever ran as fast as we did to that oven. Pizza was burnt beyond belief...needless to say we went out to eat that day haha.
