    What's there not to love about chicken drumsticks?

    They're relatively inexpensive (certainly compared to boneless skinless breasts), they cook up quickly (half an hour in the oven), you can save the leftover bones for making stock, they're kid friendly (have you ever met a kid who didn't like drumsticks?), and they even come with built-in nifty handles (so you can eat like a rampaging Viking).

    If you have a favourite way to prepare breaded drumsticks or coating combination then please add yours too.

    This particular recipe uses a mayonnaise and mustard mixture as a first coating, then some breadcrumbs with chives for the breadcrumb coating - a real winner everytime.


    1/4 cup mayonnaise
    1/4 cup Dijon or whole grain mustard
    2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
    3/4 cup dry breadcrumbs
    2 tbsp finely chopped chives or green onion greens
    Salt
    6 large chicken drumsticks, if doing more, then double up - skin on as it helps keep the drumsticks from drying out
    Olive oil



    Place rack on upper third of oven. Preheat to 425°F and coat the bottom of a shallow roasting pan or baking sheet with a thin layer of olive oil.

    Mix together the mayonnaise, mustard and Worcestershire sauce in a large bowl. Mix together the breadcrumbs and minced chives in a separate bowl.

    Sprinkle each drumstick with salt. One by one, dip each drumstick in the mayonnaise mixture, turning to coat. Then dip the drumstick in the breadcrumbs mixture, turning to coat. Place the drumsticks on the prepared roasting pan.

    Bake the chicken for 20-25 minutes, until just cooked through, and juices run clear (not pink) when poked with a sharp knife.

    Also good to use a baking grid in the pan so the chicken doesn't get soggy on the bottom.

    I make up a semi thick batter with beer (not Lager!) & quite a lot of course ground black pepper,mix it & coat the chicken,deep fry till golden & finish off in the oven.

    Mmh chicken... I'm gonna cook it today, simple recipe:

    rustic chicken with potatos.



    What you need (for 4 persons):
    • Garlic (2 cloves)
    • Flavouring for roast (2 tsp)
    • Onion (1)
    • Stock-cube (1)
    • Potatos (1 kg)
    • Rosemary (2 sticks)
    • Sage (4-5 leaves)
    • White wine (400 ml)
    • Chicken (obviously Cheesy)

    I like mine extra crispy so I deep fry them for eight minutes at 400 degrees. If I'm feeling lazy I'll just through Franks on them. If I have the time though, I'll make my own hot sauce out of vinegar, sambal, and sriracha.

    Shit this too much work,I'm more into the Fried Breasts and Legs you buy already cooked from the store deli and then you can just warm them up in the microwave when you ready to eat them!
