Just wondering if any of you guys may have some knowledge as to when the replacement for the Nikon D700 may be coming out. I want to get a full-frame but would like to wait for the next one as the D700 is a couple years old. It seems like we have been waiting forever for a replacement.

The no-brainer upgrade from any nikon is to get a canon.

Canon's are good too.  It all depends on your color preferences.  IMO, Nikon's tend to have a little cooler (more blues) in the picture while the Canon's I've seen are a little more saturated and lean towards the warmer side.  In simple terms, if you shoot mostly people, look at a Canon.  More scenic and still life, keep looking at the Nikon's.  You're just as likely to get some dead pixels with any brand - I've checked.  Another aspect is to look at what glass you'll be buying.  Just about any camera will take better pictures with a faster lens and the pics will look better.
